About Dr. Singer

I am a clinical psychologist, licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey, who provides individual and couples therapy to adults. I have experience working with clients with a wide variety of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, concerns related to gender/sexuality, substance use/addiction, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and grief. I enjoy working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, young professionals, emerging adults, and artists. In addition, I provide services to couples looking to navigate issues related to communication, intimacy, infidelity, isolation, and frequent conflicts.

Experience and Training

I currently work as a clinical psychologist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center - New York Presbyterian Hospital, where I provide direct clinical services and participate in the training of psychologists, psychiatrists, and medical students. I also completed my internship and fellowship training at Columbia.

I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University. Other clinical training experiences include the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders Clinic at the Veteran’s Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System, New York State Psychiatric Institute, the Addictions Institute at Mount Sinai West, New York State Office of Mental Health, and the Rutgers University Counseling Center.

I am certified in Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy for individuals who are interested in better understanding or moderating their relationship with alcohol and other substances.

Prior to training as a clinical psychologist, I worked for over a decade as a professional dancer and teacher.
